The Ungodly Man
A Sermon on Psalms 1:3-4
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away. (ESV)
What seperates Christians from the rest of the world? How can you know for sure someone else is truly saved? Scripture gives many tests of salvation, but few are as vivid as the portrait painted in Psalm 1. From this passage Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones explains the vast difference between those who are rooted by the river of life and those who will blow away like chaff. But what about you? What is the fruit of your life? Are you experiencing the peace and happiness that is the natural fruit from a godly life? In this sermon, Dr. Lloyd-Jones presents five differences between the godly and the ungodly person. These differences are profound and have eternal consequences. Due to our sin, we are no longer as God originally created us to be, but instead we are an empty husk in desperate need of salvation. Listen and discover why unhappiness characterizes the ungodly man and understand the only remedy is found in Jesus Christ.
